The stars are there to guide us. To inspire us. To remind us to believe in possibility.

Tomás

Tomás is a character mentioned in Wish. He was the father of Asha, the husband of Sakina, and the son of Sabino. A philosopher remembered to have a deep fascination with the stars, Tomás's love of them reflected on his young daughter, Asha, who would remember times where she and Tomás would sit together on the branch of a tree, looking up at the starlit sky. Teaching his daughter that the stars were a sought of guidance and inspiration to have faith in possibility, Tomás would ultimately fall ill to an unknown sickness that would eventually bring out his death, leaving behind widow and daughter who both remembered Tomás fondly, as did his father. In addition, Tomás was recalled by Magnifico during the king's meeting with his daughter years later and it was her father's teachings that inspired Asha to eventually rebel against the increasingly oppressive reign of Magnifico, who's destruction of Sakina's wish would cause Sakina to experience grief that she claimed to have known before. This grief that Sakina claimed to have once experienced was presumably the heartbreak of Tomás's passing, as Sakina bond with her husband was obviously close. A similarly close bond was clearly shared between Tomás and his father, Sabino, who lamented about how his son would be heartbroken by how corrupt Rosas's leader had become.
